AAP reports the home in Somerset where Evelyn Waugh spent the last ten years of his life is being placed on the market as his family can no longer afford to keep running it.

Combe Florey House was built by Thomas Francis in 1665 and acquired by Waugh in 1956, who saw in it "possibilities of beautification". Among the additions Waugh made were a 6ft chandelier, wooden throne in the main hall (a gift from his friend John Betjeman), oil painting of Our Lady of Guadalupe (which he acquired in a visit to Mexico) and stone porch to accentuate the front door.
